Getting Help

I am intrigued by the idea of developing my intuition and learning how to use that in my work and in my life.

To this end, I have recently bought a few books that, in different ways, can point a person, even someone who feels he or she has zero psychic prowess, in the right direction. I find they work best for me if I read just a little at a time and pause to ponder the exercises and ideas.

If this is something that you, too, want to work on--you don't have to be born "psychic" either, you know--then I encourage you to check out these two offerings:

The first book is one I've just started reading and really love, too. It's called Spirited: Connect to the Guides All Around You, and it's by Samantha Rose. I love it's confessional, highly personal style, in which the author explains a bleak period when she was in college and how she desperately asked for help--and got it! There are short, friendly little tidbits all around the theme of creating your life with the help of Divinity. She stresses, for instance, the importance of surrender. That doesn't mean giving up. It means setting the deliberate intention for something you want in motion - i.e. researching, networking, studying, etc.--and then handing the final details over to a Higher Power, shushing our ego that wants to be in control, and allowing our intution to guide us. Sounds easy-peasy, right? Well, she points out some of the traps along the way. But her writing is so self-effacing, so delightful, you just get drawn along and it reads like a great adventure tale, with profound truths mixed in.

The second is called, Divine Intuition: Your Guide to Creating a Life You Love, by Lynn A. Robinson. She writes in a very down-to-earth style, with lots of examples from her ordinary life. She draws from many different traditions and offers lots of helpful quotes, exercises, and ideas. For instance, "Anyone who has a dream knows fear. Part of the requirement for making your dream come alive is to step beyond the borders of your fear." In this case, and throughout, the author offers prayers and guidance, and even a few exercises to help you proceed to do just this.

Happy reading. I'd love it if you ordered from my site. I get a tiny little bit when you do, and will be eternally grateful. Blessings to you all!
